Rosemont Tourism Bureau to Sponsor Entire Bandits Team Through OPAL Program

ROSEMONT, Ill. — In a partnership announced Thursday afternoon, the Chicago Bandits and the Rosemont Visitor and Tourism Bureau have reached a team-wide agreement offering every Bandits player and coach an On-Player Ad Location (OPAL) during the 2019 season.

National Pro Fastpitch launched the OPAL program in December. It is designed to subsidize players’ and coaches’ salaries with at least 90 percent of the revenue paid directly to the athletes and coaches themselves. The OPAL program clears the way for individuals and companies to directly support the efforts of players and coaches throughout their professional careers.

“We are honored and grateful to partner with the Rosemont Visitor and Tourism Bureau to provide OPALs to all our players and coaches,” Bandits general manager Toni Calmeyn said. “The OPAL program represents a great step forward for National Pro Fastpitch, and we look forward to promoting the Tourism Bureau while providing additional support for our athletes and coaching staff throughout the upcoming season.”

Bandits players and coaches will wear a specially designed logo, furnished by the Tourism Bureau, on their visors, hats or arm sleeves for games and ancillary events during the 2019 campaign.

The OPAL program will allow the Tourism Bureau to gain exposure in-venue during game days, through livestreams broadcast internationally and via video highlights available online and on social media. Fans will also see the logo on apparel worn by Bandits players and coaches during autograph sessions following each game and at other events and player appearances throughout the season.

“We are proud to support these women in their profession and look forward to our partnership this season,” Rosemont Visitor and Tourism Bureau general manager Billy Anderson said.

In addition to their regular slate of games in 2019, the Bandits will play host to the USA Softball Women’s National Team from June 10-16 at Parkway Bank Sports Complex for a Team USA training stop. The weeklong event will feature three exhibition games between the Bandits and the National Team.

Rosemont will also host the NPF Championship Series for the second consecutive year Aug. 15-19. The best-of-five series will include a Fanfest tailgate and other fun, engaging opportunities for fans of all ages.
