National Pro Fastpitch renews with Rawlings
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — National Pro Fastpitch renewed Rawlings as an Official Equipment Supplier and exclusive helmet supplier of the league for the 2019 season.
The partnership positions Rawlings helmets on all players for competition and practice. In addition, Rawlings is a supplier in the categories of bats, gloves, batting gloves, protective gear, equipment and travel bags for all players.
“The NPF is an outstanding partner and advocates for the expansion of professional women’s sports,” Rawlings Chief Marketing Officer Mike Thompson said. “Working with the NPF allows us to work with and showcase our products to some of the best softball players in the world.”
In addition to the supplier categories, the Rawlings Gold Glove Award for softball recognizes a player in the league each season for outstanding defense. Rawlings began awarding the Gold Glove to an NPF player in 2016, with the first recipient being Akron Racers outfielder AJ Andrews. The 2017 winner was USSSA Pride catcher and former Arizona standout Chelsea Goodacre, followed by the most recent recipient, Cleveland Comets first baseman Jade Rhodes, formerly of Auburn.
“Our relationship with Rawlings is an important partnership for the league,” NPF Commissioner Cheri Kempf said. “The inclusion of our players as annual Rawlings Gold Glove Award winners is something we are very proud of. In addition to that, being able to offer our players options throughout the quality equipment line manufactured by Rawlings helps make this league the world’s premier professional softball platform and we are grateful.”
Rawlings began its partnership with the NPF in 2005. The brand became the exclusive supplier of helmets in 2016 and in that same season added the Gold Glove Award for softball. In addition to league-wide support for all players, Rawlings also endorses the individual personalities of Lauren Chamberlain, Keilani Ricketts, Shelby Pendley, Chelsea Goodacre, Ally Carda, Paige Lowary and Jade Rhodes, as well as many others.
