Katzkin Wrangler Road Trip goes to bat for National Pro Fastpitch
LOS ANGELES — Katzkin, the global, custom automotive leather manufacturer, whose all-new 2018 Jeep Wranger JL has taken a summer road trip nationwide to showcase its customized leather interiors, will be stopping to enjoy America’s favorite pastime in Chicago, for the National Pro Fastpitch Championship Series, Aug. 16-20, 2018. All attending fans will have an opportunity to win an all-new, leather-trimmed interior for their non-luxury car, truck or SUV, throughout the series, while Katzkin will additionally award a new interior to the NPF “Player of the Year” and the season’s “Gold Glove” winner. The NPF Championship Series will be held at Parkway Bank Sports Complex in Rosemont, Illinois, the home of the league’s longest-running affiliate team, Chicago Bandits. For more information on the Championship Series, please view www.profastpitch.com/championship-series.
According to Doug Johnson, director of OEM development for Katzkin, the leather interior manufacturer has been aligned with National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) since April, beginning with the 2018 College Draft in Nashville, Tennessee, to broaden its consumer awareness among the tens of thousands of fans and players of NPF. “It’s a perfect partnership as we’ve played in the baseball world since 2006 when our relationship with Rawlings began as a licensee,” Johnson said. “Katzkin provides baseball glove-inspired designs made from the brand’s finest Tuscany leather bearing the official Rawlings® patch embroidery, as well as additional customized interiors.
Throughout the 2018 NPF season, Katzkin has gained notoriety through social media and livstreamed games and will be concluding the season with three significant interior giveaways — each valued at $2,000. Fans who participate in pregame tailgating, as well as all ticketholders for the series, will be eligible to enter the drawing for a new Katzkin interior. The “fan award” giveaway will be presented by Katzkin on Saturday, Aug. 18 during Game 3 of the Championship Series. Additional awards for “Player of the Year” and the 2018 “Gold Glove” winner will be announced on the field during the weekend.
To celebrate NPF’s 15th season, ancillary events will feature pregame tailgating complete with food, beverages and live entertainment; a champions dinner and reception; and some postgame activities operating in conjunction with Rosemont’s Entertainment District, located within a half-mile of the Championship Series venue. The pregame tailgating will take place each day before the gates open, creating new, fun, fan-friendly experiences for ticketholders.
NPF is the premier women’s professional softball league and has been recognized for its gritty, fast-paced, 70 mph rise balls and competitive seven-inning nature. NPF’s primary purpose is to provide family entertainment for people of all ages, provide role models for today’s youth, deliver substantial value to its partners and create an outlet for post-collegiate athletes to continue their success in the sport.
Cheri Kempf, commissioner for National Pro Fastpitch, noted, “It’s been an exciting season and Katzkin has played a large role for us this year. Our fans identify themselves with their favorite teams, from the amateur to the professional level, and Katzkin’s ties to Rawlings completes that circle. We’re looking forward to the Championship Series awards for our players and the fans.”
In addition to Rawlings, Katzkin holds a license for Realtree Camo graphics, and has ongoing relationships with Fiat Chrysler Automotive (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM, Mopar), as well as performance vehicle builders Shelby and Roush.
Separately from the NPF sponsorship program, Katzkin has undertaken its own “Wrangler Road Trip” this summer as a moving billboard across the country whereby consumers can spot the Jeep and enter to win an all-new leather interior through social media. Katzkin’s boldly designed 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL, sporting numerous authentic Mopar accessories worth more than $7,000, and a full Katzkin Leather design inside and out, is the focus of the social media campaign. All consumers spotting the bold Katzkin Jeep and posting their sightings on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #KatzkinJeep, will be entered to win an all-new Katzkin leather interior transformation. The contest wraps up at the 2018 SEMA show Oct. 31, 2018.
