Chicago Bandits Internships
The Chicago Bandits, a women’s professional fastpitch softball team located in Rosemont, Ill., are looking for several well-rounded, hardworking interns interested in getting their careers started in the sports industry. Each internship opportunity is unpaid but does have the ability to turn into a paid position based on the intern’s performance and revenue-generating efforts. College credit is offered for all internship positions, but is not an absolute requirement for consideration.

Intern for the newest Women's professional Softball league Athlete's Unlimited. This league runs from early August to the begging of October.
Interns will be responsible for acting as team liaisons to youth teams attending games, acting as customer service representatives during all Athlete's Unlimited home games, working different areas at Parkway Bank Sports Complex during Athletes Unlimited home games, assisting the ticket department during games, acting as ushers to help people find seats and assisting the merchandise department during games to ensure a friendly shopping atmosphere for all customers in the ballpark. * This position is mostly a nights-and-weekends position with extended work on Youth Tournament weekends.

Interns will be trained in the Bandits ticketing system and sales tactics. Responsible for ticket sales in office and on game days, working closely with group coordinators for large organizations in the community including, but not limited to, softball and baseball organizations, youth groups, businesses, chamber of commerce, etc., scheduling group events from start to finish including tickets and amenities, assisting in individual and season ticket sales, responsible for specific sales-driven projects, assisting with ticket mailings and promotions, other special projects and administrative duties as assigned, assigned game night responsibilities.
Opportunity for creative implementation of new apparel ideas and marketing tools, responsible for inventory pregame and postgame, report to merchandise coordinator for all bulk order needs, responsible for filling online internet orders and mailing, responsible for setup and take-down of merchandise areas on game night, responsible for cash and credit card sales; will be required to report all sales at the end of each home game and homestand as well as online sales throughout. Required to work in office on an occasional basis and all game days.

Availability: Spring, summer, Fall, Winter
Interns will be responsible for maintenance and cleanliness of the team clubhouse, responsible for ensuring player uniforms are ready and organized for each game, responsible for preparing clubhouse food pregame and postgame, including stocking water coolers, fridge, etc., and responsible for assisting players in a concierge-type roll.
Responsible for assisting the Director of Media Relations with all aspects of the media relations department, including writing game recaps and press releases, coordinating interviews, capturing content for social media, updating social channels, helping prepare game notes and other materials, pitching ideas and writing feature stories, creating graphics and performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Media Relations.
- Strong writing skills; proficiency in AP Style preferred
- Excellent time management skills
- Familiarity with social media platforms and the ability to creatively deliver content to fans
- Previous experience working in sports media, sports writing and/or a team's/program's sports information office a big plus
- Experience with broadcast journalism (TV or radio) a plus
Responsible for creating and designing promotional materials, player headshots and walk-up music. Will work with the press box to upload any and all materials to scoreboard. Will need to be available for all game days and will work directly with the Director of Ticket Sales, the Director of Game Day Operations & Promotions and the Director of Media Relations.
