Bandits to Host Two NPF Series Events in 2020
ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Chicago Bandits announced today, two Series Events for the 2020 National Pro Fastpitch season. The league announced the outline for the brand new format of multi-team events in late August and Chicago’s announcement of two premier June events are the first of their kind.
The new multi-team format will include a minimum of three teams per Series Event. Series Events will fall under identifying titles such as Series 3, Series 4, Series 5, and so on, that will indicate the number of teams participating in each event.
Both of these Bandits hosting announcements are Series 4 events. Both events will be hosted at Parkway Bank Sports Complex in Rosemont, the first from June 11-14, and the second, from June 25-28, 2020. As Series 4 events, three other teams are eligible to sign up to compete against each other, and the reigning NPF Regular Season Champions.
“The Bandits are honored to host events like this, especially with what it means for growing the game,” Chicago Bandits General Manager Toni Calmeyn said. “Making games easier to access and easier to be a part of only helps grow the amazing atmosphere we’ve built.”
Event hosts will have until December 1, 2019 to list Events and particular ancillary activities and incentives that accompany each. Following December 1, hosts will decide which teams will make up the respective Series Events, and the overall NPF schedule for the 2020 season, along with a complete broadcast coverage schedule, will be released in January.
Throughout the fall, additional Series Events will be announced and added to the slate of overall competitive events from which NPF teams will have to assemble their particular season schedules.
