Bandits sign DiCarlo for 1-year contract

ROSEMONT, III. — The Chicago Bandits have signed infielder Alyssa DiCarlo to a 1-year contract, team officials announced Tuesday morning.

DiCarlo, the fourth overall pick in the 2019 NPF Draft, put up impressive numbers in her four years at the University of Georgia posting a school record of 68 home runs.

“We are really excited to add Alyssa to the roster,” Bandits general manager Toni Calmeyn stated. “She is definitely going to strengthen the offensive game.”

DiCarlo helped lead Georgia to the Women’s College World Series her junior year with a batting average of .400 and a fielding percentage of .921 at shortstop. In her senior campaign, DiCarlo broke Georgia’s all-time RBI and home run records, earning a top 10 nomination for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award.

That effort was on display during Georgia’s run at the NCAA Regional Tournament. In four games, DiCarlo had a batting average of .386 and four RBI, all of which scored on her 23rd and 24th home runs of the 2019 season.

The four-time Cowles Cup champion Chicago Bandits will be back at Parkway Bank Sports Complex for the 2019 season. Opening day is set for a 7:05 p.m. first pitch June 6 against the Cleveland Comets.
