Bandits rallied a 6-4 comeback over Team USA

ROSEMONT, IL – The Chicago Bandits seek redemption against Team USA after a 6-1 upset on Friday (Jun. 14) with a 6-4 comeback Saturday night (Jun. 15) at Parkway Bank Sports Complex.

Team USA wasted no time getting runs on the board for an early lead over the Bandits. Kelsey Stewart shot a solo home run to right field for the first inning followed by an RBI single from Haylie McCleney that allowed Jazmyn Jackson to cross the plate in the top of the second.

Hannah Flippen quickly split USA’s lead in half with a homer to left field making the score 2-1 in the top of the third. The Red, White, and Blue came right back with a double from Rachel Garcia that advanced Ali Aguilar home. With a 3-1 lead, Kirsti Merritt made it across the plate after a sacrifice fly from Sahvanna Jaquish.

Jessie Scroggins started the fourth inning off for the Bandits with a triple to left field as Abbey Cheek then landed a sacrifice fly that brought Scroggins home and cut the score to 4-2.

The Bandits steered their way to the top after Amanda Chidester rocked a three-run homer that allowed the Black and Orange to capture the lead at 5-4 in the fifth.

Flippen didn’t stop there for the Bandits where the California native received her second home run of the night that secured the win over Team USA.

The Black and Orange are set to face off against Team USA one last time on Sunday (Jun. 16) at 2 p.m. CT at Parkway Bank Sports Complex.
