Bandits, Crane agree to one-year deal

ROSEMONT, Ill. — The Chicago Bandits have signed right fielder Emily Crane to a one-year extension, team officials announced Sunday morning.

Crane, in her second season with the Bandits with the Bandits, amassed a .328 batting average across 36 games. The former University of Missouri standout also chipped in eight stolen bases, placing her within the top five overall in the league during the 2018 season.

“Emily has proven to be a key contributor to the Bandits during her tenure wearing the black and orange,” Bandits general manager Toni Calmeyn said. “Her energy and enthusiasm on the field and in the dugout is unparalleled.”

Crane made her presence felt just two games into the 2018 season when she delivered a pair of triples and drove in three runs in a June 1 tilt against the Cleveland Comets. Her effort aided the Bandits in blanking the Comets 10-0 at Parkway Bank Sports Complex.

After a historic career at Missouri in which she garnered first team All-American honors as a senior, the Troy, Missouri, product became the seventh overall pick in the 2016 NPF Draft. An offseason trade landed her in Chicago prior to the start of the 2017 season. The acquisition proved beneficial for the Bandits, as Crane led the team with six home runs during the 2017 campaign.

The University of Missouri softball team announced Crane as a member of its coaching staff August 1.

The four-time Cowles Cup champion Chicago Bandits will be back at Parkway Bank Sports Complex for the 2019 season. For more information about the Chicago Bandits or to reserve your season tickets, please visit or call the box office at 877-722-6348.
